SOLID STATE SPECTROMETER: Bruker 360 MHz DMX


Varian 600 MHz INOVA: Our newest spectrometer, purchased as part of the NSF STC, and the only one (so far) with an actively shielded magnet. Three channels are available with a 20 amp gradient driver. Emphasis is on polymers, 19F, diffusion, peptides and proteins.

Probes: (all 5mm)

  • Varian Triple Resonance with z-gradient, 1H inverse detection with 13C and 15N on the outer coil
  • Varian Triple Resonance with z-gradient, 1H or 19F inverse detection with 13C and 15N-31P on the outer coil
  • Varian Double Resonance with z-gradient, broad band (67Zn, 33S, 14N, 109Ag, 15N-31P) with 1H or 19F on the outer coil
  • Nalorac Triple Resonance with z-gradient (full 20A capable), broad band (15N-31P) with 1H and 19F on the outer coil
  • Nalorac Single Resonance Diffusion with z-gradient (full 20A capable), 1H or 19F detection

Bruker 500 MHz DRX: Three channels are available with triple axis, 10 amp gradient drivers. Emphasis is on polymers, 19F, diffusion, and extended 1H & 13C and variable temperature work.

Probes:

  • Nalorac 5mm Triple Resonance with x,y,z-gradients, 1H inverse detection with 31P and 109Ag-31P on the outer coil (#73)
  • Nalorac 5mm Double Resonance with x,y,z-gradients, 1H or 19F on the inner coil and 1H or 19F on the outer coil (#74)
  • Nalorac 5mm Single Resonance Diffusion with z-gradient, 1H or 19F, (#76)
  • Nalorac 5mm Double Resonance with x,y,z-gradients, broad band (15N-31P) and 1H & 19F on the outer coil (#75)
  • Nalorac 3mm Double Resonance with x,y,z-gradients, broad band (15N-31P) with 1H on the outer coil (#72 )
  • Nalorac 3mm Double Resonance with x,y,z-gradient, 1H inverse detection with 109Ag-31P on the outer coil (#71)
  • Bruker 10mm Double Resonance, broad band (109Ag-31P) with 1H on the outer coil.
  • Bruker 4mm Double Resonance LC with z-gradient and 1H and 13C detection.

Bruker 400 MHz DRX: Three channels are available with a 10 amp gradient driver. Emphasis is on walk-up 1H, 13C, 19F, 31P experiments and extended broad band and variable temperature work.

Probes: (all 5mm)

  • Bruker Quad Nucleus, 13C and 31P on the inner coil and 1H and 19F on the outer coil
  • Bruker Dual Resonance, broad band (109Ag-31P) detection with 1H on the outer coil.
  • Bruker Dual Resonance with z-gradient, broad band (109Ag-31P) detection with 1H on the outer coil.
  • Nalorac Triple Resonance with z-gradient, 1H inverse detection with 13C and 15N-31P on the outer coil

Bruker 400 MHz AVANCE (Single Bay, wide bore): Two channels are available with a 20 amp gradient driver. Emphasis is on walk-up 1H, 13C, 31P experiments and diffusion work (including electrophoretic NMR).

Probes:

  • Nalorac 5mm Four Nucleus with z-gradient, 13C and 31P on the inner coil and 1H and 19F on the outer coil
  • Nalorac 8mm Single Resonance Diffusion with z-gradient, 1H or 19F detection, external connections for use in electrophoretic NMR

Bruker 300 MHz AMX (upgraded): Three channels are available. Emphasis is on walk-up 1H, 13C and 31P experiments extended 1H, 13C, 31P and variable temperature work.

Probes:

  • Bruker 5mm Triple Resonance, 13C and 31P detection with 1H on the outer coil
  • Bruker 10mm Double Resonance, broad band (183W-31P) detection with 1H on the outer coil
  • Bruker 5mm Double Resonance, 1H inverse detection with 183W-31P on the outer coil

Varian 300 MHz Gemini: This is our undergraduate NMR which runs samples generated in synthetic chemistry laboratory courses. Two channels are available with a sample changer (50 sample). Emphasis is on 1H and 31P.

Probe:

  • Varian 5mm Quad Nucleus probe, 13C and 31P on the inner coil and 1H and 19F on the outer coil

Bruker 360 MHz DMX (wide bore): Three high power (1kW) channels are available with a triple axis 10 amp gradient drivers and a micro imaging cabinet. Emphasis is on solid state NMR (CPMAS and 2H block decay).

Solid state NMR probes:

  • Bruker Double Resonance, high power, 4mm CPMAS, with broad band detection
  • Bruker Double Resonance, high power, 7mm CPMAS, with broad band detection
  • Bruker high power, horizontal coil with 1H detection
  • Bruker high power 7mm CRAMPS/MAS with 1H or 19F detection
  • Bruker 20mm 2H detection 1H or 19F decouple and 19F lock
  • Bruker Triple Resonance, high power, 4mm CPMAS, with 2 broad band channels and 1H
    High resolution (liquid state) NMR probe:
  • Bruker Double Resonance, 10mm broad band
  • Bruker 5mm, 1H or 19F detection
    Micro imaging probe:
  • Bruker "Micro 2.5", water cooled
